Olympic games to Silver Screen

“Olympic games”- the grandest sporting events in mankind history is known to all people no matter our race, age, or country. The majestic tournament inspires every one us to be patriotic by supporting our national athletes who competes with other World best opponents in different desciplines. The countdown for the greatest sporting events have started years ago and finally, the glorious sporting event is ready to kick off in a weeks time in London.
Over the years, Olympic games seized an extraordinary connotation in mankind history from the pre war pressure to post war tension. Movies are being made inspired by Olympic gold medalists, Olympians, and the gloomy disaster that binds the magnificent sporting event. The movie “Munich” directed by Steven Spielberg based on the 1972, Munich Olympic games that saw 11 Israeli athletes murdered by terrorist will always be remembered as the darkest hour(black september).
The film received critical acclaims and was nominated for Five Academy Awards for Best Picture, Best Director(Spielberg), Best Adapted Screenplay(Kushner and Roth), Best Film Editing( Micheal Kahn) and Best Original Score(John Williams).
The joie de vivre of Beijing 2008 games grand opening to its closing ceremony is still fresh in our reminiscence, thanks to the one of a kind choreography by Director Ang Lee. 2012 London Games opening ceremony will witness another much admired hollywood director Danny Boyle’s choreography. It won’t be surprising to be awe-struck witnessing another grand opening ceremony.
