Bollywood and Oscars

Barfi and its nomination to the Oscars have been talk of Bollywood for the past few days. Questions were raised whether the movie is deserving enough to go to Oscars when compared to its competitors like Gangs of Wasseypur, Pan Singh Tomar and others.

But before we raise any doubts against Barfi, let us have a run through of how many movies and what were the movies which actually made it to the floors of Oscars.
Lagaan: The 2001 release directed by Ashutosh Gowarikar rewrote the history with Lagaan. The movie was commercially and critically accepted by audience across the country. After its release, the movie proved to be a success on the international scale as well. Lagaan became the third ever movie to be selected for the Oscars from India
Mother India- The 1957 movie directed by Mehoboob Khan was a path breaker. The movie swept away several awards including an International Award (Nargis Dutt became the first Indian to receive the Best Actress award at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival).  The film was India's first submission for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film in 1958 and was chosen as one of the five nominations for the category.
Salaam Bombay: After Mother India, we had to wait for 30 years to get another nomination in the Oscars. Salaam Bombay directed by Mira Nair is a master piece even today. After all New York Times listed the movie among the ‘The Best 1,000 Movies Ever Made’.  Apart from the National accolades, the movie had also won international awards like the Golden Camera Award and the Audience Award of Cannes Film Festival.

Today, nearly after a decade, another of our own cinema has been nominated for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film.

Barfi is a simple and light hearted movie which is highly appreciated by the critics. But when it comes to an Oscar, fingers are being raised against it.
When we look back, the movies which were selected for the Golden Man was either periodic or real life based.

Barfi had competitors like The Dirty Picture, Gangs of Wasseypur and Pan Singh Tomar which actually took away most of the credits from the audience and the critics equally. Also they are far more realistic when compared to Barfi. But could that be the only reason why Barfi should not get selected for the Oscars?

Well, looking at our history, more than criticizing the movie that got selected, it would be better we could rejoice the fact that a movie from India has finally made it to the Oscar floors nearly after a decade.

Franchises come and go: returns and reboot in today’s Sequel Bits.

The internet world has been doing rounds of rumors on what’s in and which movie sequel is being laid on the table.

Avatar 2 and 3 are certainly coming, but the impeccable film maker James Cameron isn’t rushing. The Director talked a lot about shooting at a higher frame rate and he also believes that China will, in the next five years, be as lucrative a movie marketplace as North America. James Cameron might add Chinese Na'vi to Avatar 2.

Jackie Chan, the said to be soon-retired action star might return with Police Story 2013. Would you show up to see Chan doing his best: action and humor?

Arguably they are the most controversial stars on and off screens-Charlie Sheen and Lindsay Lohan share a bed in the first still from Scary Movie 5. You think the duo will scare the hell out of you on screen? Maybe in person!

Paramount is hoping Tom Cruise’s Jack Reacher will start its own franchise, and mark the beginning of a franchise focus at the studio.

The list of stars for Expendables 3 keep on increasing as producer Avi Lerner keep mentioning names he wants for The Expendables 3: Clint Eastwood, Nicholas Cage, Harrison Ford, the return of Mickey Rourke etc.

Though, a sequel to 28 Days Later and 28 Weeks Later, 28 Months Later, no longer looks likely.

KOLLYWOOD’S TOP 5

The actors of recent times, who have mesmerized us the most so far…

There are those actors who have always impressed us. FRIDAYMOVIEZ gives its K-Town verdict on the top 5 actors of this year, so far -

The first in the list is all-time favorite and upcoming movie special role player, Ajith Kumar. The Richard Gere of Kollywood began his career as a supporting actor in a Telugu film before gaining critical recognition in the Tamil thriller ‘Aasai’. A succession of high-grossing films followed where Ajith was usually depicted as a romantic hero, with ‘Kadhal Kottai’ and ‘Kadhal Mannan’ being the most notable. He later forayed into method acting, as seen in ‘Vaali’, ‘Mugavaree’, ‘Kandukondain Kandukondain’ and ‘Citizen’ before establishing himself as an action hero with popular films including ‘Amarkalam’, ‘Dheena’,Villain’, ‘Varalaru’,  ‘Billa’ and ‘Mankatha’.

Joseph Vijay Chandrasekhar, better known mononymously as Vijay, is the son of film producer and director S. A. Chandrasekhar. After performing un-credited roles as a child actor in films produced by his father, he made his debut in a lead role in the 1992 film ‘Naalaya Theerpu’. Since then, he acted in several films of action and romance genres. He has also worked as a playback singer in several of his films, as well as a few films starring other actors. During his career in the Tamil film industry, he has won two Tamil Nadu State Film Awards and one Filmfare Award.

BROTHERS IN ARMS -
Suriya born as Saravanan Sivakumar tarred in his claim-to-fame films, ‘Nandha’, ‘Kaakha Kaakha’, ‘Ghajini’ and ‘Singam’. With three Filmfare awards under his belt, there is little that this star has not achieved at a young age! Commendable indeed.  Karthi, Suriya’s younger brother joined Mani Ratnam as an assistant director. He was offered acting roles and made his acting debut in ‘Paruthiveeran’in 2007 as the titular character, a careless village rowdy, winning critical acclaim and several accolades including the Filmfare Award for Best Actorand a Tamil Nadu State Film Award. His next role was a coolie in ‘Aayirathil Oruvan’ and achieved consecutive commercial successes with his subsequent releases ‘Paiyaa’, ‘Naan Mahaan Alla’ and ‘Siruthai’.

Lastly, one of our favourites Vikram. The ‘Thaandavam’is the outstanding winner of five Filmfare Awards and one National Film Award and Tamil Nadu State Film Award amongst other recognitions. He was awarded an Honorary Doctorate by People's Universityof Milan in May, 2011. Vikram is known for his intense performances, with his work often fetching critical acclaim and commercial success.

Man of many faces: Kamal Haasan

Versatile actor and K-town director, singer, writer, dancer, composer and producer, Kamal Haasan, a Padmashri Award holder, is the most decorated actor in Indian cinema.

We have seen him prove his versatility through his films, ‘Hindustani’, ‘Hey Ram’, ‘Abhay’, ‘Sadma’ in Bollywood. And his accolades down South beat this number hands down. Audiences across the globe are awaiting his Diwali release this year, ‘Vishwaroopam’ which created a huge hype since its first look launch, itself.

In addition to all his attributes he also manages to scoop the time to fulfill his ambitions of being a lyricist, playback singer and choreographer. Kamal Haasan holds the record for the most National Film Awards for an actor – 4 National Awards. Three Awards for Best Actor and one for Best Child Artiste.

Kamal holds a record for nineteen Filmfare Awards - ranging across five languages – Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam, Kannada and Telugu. After his latest award in 2000, he wrote to the Nation film awards organization to exempt him from any further awards.

Kamal's other recognitions include a string of Tamil Nadu State Film Awards, Nandi Awards and Vijay Awards, in which Haasan won four separate awards for his contribution in the movie, ‘Dasavathaaram’.

Two Kollywood Picks!

Tamil films compete in the Oscar race this year!

In the past, Tamil films like ‘Jeans’,
The South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce (SIFCC) has appointed a 16 member jury that will meet this week to nominate the Indian entry for the Oscars this year in the category of the 'Best Foreign Film'.
The news is that Kollywood films, '7aam Arivu'and 'Vazhakku Enn 18/9' are in the list of movies that are in the race for the honors. A representative of SIFCC said that both these films were appreciated critically for their novelty.

The entire shortlisted selection from India, includes critically acclaimed hits like 'Barfi’, ‘The Dirty Picture', 'Kahaani', 'Gangs of Wasseypur', 'Ferrari Ki Sawari' in Hindi, from Bollywood and 'Eega' in Telugu.

We will have to wait and see which of these have the privilege of representing India at the prestigious Academy Awards.

REEL-LIFE ROMANCES

Which is the best on screen pair that you can remember? No doubt, many will say Kamal Haasan-Sridevi, Sivaji-Padmini or MGR-Saroja Devi. Yes, these are legendary screen pairs, but we are not talking about them. We are looking at those young pairs of our times that have made a big impact, that have managed to look like the perfect couple on screen, those who have managed to leave an impression in our hearts.

Let’s take a look at the most lovable screen romances of recent times.

Pair: Arya and Pooja
Film: Oram Po
Though they have done four movies together, this is perhaps their most effective combination to date. The film was not a big hit, but it did manage to generate positive vibes. Their relationship was not the normal hero-heroine type. It was in fact crass romance; somewhere it appealed very much to the audience. The sparkling chemistry in the movie also started off some very strong rumors regarding the lead pair.

Pair: Vikram and Trisha
This was admiration turning into romance. Not the youthful college kind of romance, but something that had more depth to it. The combination worked really well, especially in the songs. Trisha appeared both as the young possessive lover and the understanding wife in different phases of the movie. Both of them were well portrayed. In fact, it had such an impact that Trisha was referred to as ‘Mami’ by a section of the fans and media for quite some time.

Pair: Vijay and Trisha
Film: Ghilli
This was one classic case where love is left unexpressed dangerously till the climax. We knew that the heroine wouldn’t fly leaving the hero behind, but there was sense of apprehension in the final moments before Trisha finally appeared. Love that goes untold and unknown has a charm that connects instantly to a large section of the people. The audience empathize with the tongue tied lover who is not able to open his heart or who realized too late that the feeling he had in his heart was love indeed.

Pair: Madhavan and Shalini
Film: Alai Paayuthey
Mani Ratnam romances are special to watch. The relationships that he depicts have so much depth that one wants to live the life of the on screen characters. ‘Alai Paayuthe’ was no different. A software techie-doctor pair is not very common; in fact, it is almost non-existent (pardon if there are any real life couples). But it looked so real in the movie. They way they met and then fell in love were pure joy to watch. Rahman’s romantic tunes made the love story even more endearing.

Pair: Ajith and Devayani
Film: Kadhal kottai
This was not about the lead pair’s chemistry, in fact they do not meet for most part of the film. That was the factor that set apart this romance. This started off a trend of sorts of relationships that developed irrespective of distance and other barriers. The fancy of such an unconventional romance remained in the audience heart for a while.

Pair: Vijay and Shalini
Film: Kadhalukku Mariyadhai
This is perhaps the most celebrated love story of our times. A beautiful tale of two people who are made for each other but resist their feelings for the sake of their families. But, love, especially if destined in one’s life, will happen. No matter what the circumstances are. The movie stated in a very cute way that true love will always get its due from the family and society, it will never go unrecognized. The film created a huge impact among the youngsters, so much so that they names of the lead characters in the film – Jeeva and Mini – remain etched in the memories.

Vikram’s Giant Leap of Faith: Thaandavam

Vikram's movies have always been treating the audiences with its huge opening and multiple, back-to-back shows in theatres. 'Anniyan', the most expensive south Indian film was released with over four hundred prints all over India. Whereas 'Raavanan' overtook this with its worldwide release, in more than three thousand theatres.

Now it's the turn for much-awaited Vikram starrer 'Thaandavam'which is planned to take a giant leap with the biggest release ever recorded in USA screens. This movie will be released in more than forty locations including all major cities in USA. Arkansas, Omaha NE, Des Moines Iowa, St Louis MOetc. are also expected to screen the movie.

Out of all the other films starring Vikram, this clean ‘U’ certified film, 'Thaandavam' will be the biggest and the most anticipated movie hitting screens worldwide on September 28.

Director Vijay had been frantic for the past few days, to get the final print of UTV Motion Pictures ready.

With the release date nearing, quiz him if he is anxious about the movie's result, and he says, “This film has been a huge challenge. We've focused on a new concept; have a huge star cast and the best of technicians onboard. But, we had to face a lot of hurdles. The London weather wasn't too kind with us. And then, we had to discredit a lot of rumors like how the script of the film wasn't mine and how certain footages that we shot abroad were lost. I must say, we've survived and strived hard, and I hope the audience like what they see on screen”.

2012- A year of Bollywood comebacks

2012 can be called as a comeback year for most of the Bollywood actresses. We have several examples.

Sridevi: The veteran actress is all set to comeback with a bang in Bollywood. And literally speaking, there couldn’t have been a better comeback for her other than with English Vinglish. The promos have already created waves and the movie already received a standing ovation in Toronto Film Festival. The movie will see its commercial release on 5th October.

Karisma Kapoor: Her comeback was the much expected in Bollywood. But the lady took the biggest risk with Dangerous Ishq which never paid off. Though the movie failed in the Box Office, her effort was highly praised in the movie.

Madhuri Dixit: After Aaja Nachle, Madhuri completely disappeared from Bollywood and moved into the tellyworld as the judge of the popular show Jhalak Dikhlaa Ja. But the dancing queen is all set for her next innings in Bollywood with two of the promising projects, Gulab Rang and Dedh Ishqiya

Preity Zinta: When Preity announced her comeback with Ishqk in Paris, her fans went gaga over the news. The promos released and everyone was shocked to see the same charming Preity again. But at the same time we realize that the songs are really not very attractive. Being her first movie as a producer, let us wait and watch how this movie works in Box Office.

Manisha Koirala: The Nepali beauty will make her comeback with Ramgopal Verma’s Bhoot returns. This would be her next shot in Bollywood after her personal tragedies. Well, the promos indeed look promising. But is the movie her best decision as a comeback? Let us wait and watch.

B-Town makes Ganesh festival a promotional event

The festive season is on with the grand opening for Ganapati Pooja. This is the time when top celebrities come out in the public for their interaction with the aam janta. This is the time when they mingle with the crowd and promote themselves and their movies to the masses in the closest manner.

Kareena Kapoor was seen recently at Lal Baug for Ganapati darshan. Director Madhur Bhandarkar was also seen accompanying her. After all it was her birthday and her much awaited movie Heroine was released on the same day (http://fridaymoviez.com/bollywood/event-image-gallery/kareena-and-madhur-bhandarkar-at-ganesh-pandal-seeking-blessing-for-heroine/11711/).

But why do the stars flaunt about their bhakti so much? Well, seems like the publicity in of any matter seems like their motto.

Well, well.. After the long wait, finally the much awaited, the masaaledaar and the baap of all reality shows is back on Colors. Yes, we are talking about the most controversial show on Indian television, Bigg Boss and this time we will finally get to see the pure magic of Salman Khan back again on screen.

Last season, the show suffered in numbers and also reputation last season because of contestants, Siddharth and Akashdeep Saighal. The viewers were also not really impressed with Sanjay Dutt’s hosting. The audiences waited for the days when Salman joined as a host.

Salman shared, "Last year the show was reprimanded by IBM owing to the vulgarity. As a host I am not supposed to interfere in the contestant's life, however I made an exception because of the extreme situation between Siddharth and Akashdeep. I do watch all the episodes of Bigg Boss and therefore exactly know what is going on in the house. Sometimes you just can't stop yourself because it is a reality show and the world is seeing it. There are many people who cannot see the show due to the usage of foul language which is used".

This season, apart from Salman’s solo comeback, there are various other changes. Like the participation of common man with the celebrities and also its two new unique members; the parrot and the fish. Wonder what they are going to do on the show.

Well, for what it is worth, the viewers are much delighted to see their ‘Bhai’ back in the pink of his health. Let us wait and watch if he successfully creates the same magic like his earlier seasons.

Thuppaki, the wait continues

The agony continues for team ‘Thuppaki’! They will now have to wait up to 21st September to get a final word on the title row that is on with the film with a similar title - ‘Kalla Thuppaki’. A city court in Chennai has said that they would deliver a verdict on the issue this Friday and have postponed the case until next week.

It may be noted that the makers of Vijay-starrer, ‘Thuppakki’ are keen to get on with things and had indicated about their intentions a few days ago. It is said the producers are eager to launch their teaser and then get to work with regard to the audio launch and press meet.

The plans are to release the film starring Vijay and Kajal Agarwal and directed by A. R. Murugadoss for Diwali. It may be noted that Vijay is donning the role of a cop, and the film is touted to be a sleek action-drama film. However, with the title issue still dragging, their plans seem a bit shaky right now. With so many Kollywood films being pushed around all the time, this just seems like a film worth the wait!

Bollywood actors in their differently-abled role

Ranbir Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra portrayed two differently-abled people in their latest flick Barfi. The two actors showcased outstanding performances in their respective roles so much that the people can’t stop talking about their act.
Like Ranbir and Priyanka, we also have several other actors who have portrayed differently abled roles. Let us run through them.

Rani Mukherjee in Black: Rani swept away all the awards in 2005 for her extraordinary performance in the movie Black. She portrayed the visually challenged Michelle McNally who surpasses all the hurdles to obtain a degree from a normal college. Her role, complemented with Amitabh Bachchan’s special hand, proved the movie, a magical one to watch even today

Shah Rukh Khan in My Name Is Khan: Shah Rukh tried his hands as the autistic Rizwan Khan in Karan Johar’s My Name Is Khan. Though the movie was hyped ever since it was announced, Shah Rukh did not receive over the top reviews for his performance as his role was compared to Dustin Hoffman’s role in Rain Man.

Hrithik Roshan in Koi Mil Gaya and Guzaarish: Hrithik played the adorable Rohit in Koi Mil Gaya and he was accepted whole heartedly by the audience. Being a new comer then, it was a tough role where he had to portray the role of a 21 year old with the brain of a seven year old. Later on he went on to play the quadriplegic Ethan Mascarenhas in Guzaarish.

Vidya Balan in Bhool Bhulaiyya: Vidya Balan performed splendidly well as the sweet and adorable Avni and the vengeful Monjolika simultaneously in Priyadarshan’s Bhool Bhulaiyya. She was portrayed as a girl suffering from multiple personality disorder.

Kajol in U Me Aur Hum: The story of U Me Aur Hum was running smooth until we discovered that Pia is suffering from Alzheimer’s. Kajol portrayed the role of Pia decently well in Ajay Devgn’s directorial debut.

Amitabh Bachchan in Paa: Amitabh Bachchan received his third National Award for his role in Paa as the 12 year old Auro suffering from progeria. He proved to be an unbeatable actor with his performance in the movie.

How many actors do you remember who have portrayed such unique characters?

We like to see them together on screen…

When we think of Bollywood, the first thing that comes to our mind is that it is a family affair. From producers to the directors to the actors; they are related in some way or the other. Either as brothers or sons and daughters or as sisters. But many a times, they are not really seen on screen together.
Let us list some names that we would like to see together on screen.

The Kapoor bloods, Kareena and Ranbir, are two such siblings whom the viewers are, literally speaking, dyeing to watch together on screen. They made a big news when they were seen together in an airport with Karisma Kapoor recently. Well, if getting seen in an airport together can make a big news, then the makers do not even have to worry about the eye balls getting dragged in the theatre if they are planning to cast them together.

We have seen movies wherein the father and the son share screen space. But the father-son duo that the viewers are willing to watch is Rishi Kapoor and Ranbir Kapoor. Rishi had proved to be a cool dad leaving Ranbir to live his life. It would be interesting to see both of them together in any of the flicks.
The unbreakable bond of the the Deol brothers with their father has been really evident from their movies like Apne and Yamla Pagla Deewana. But it would be a different experience if the viewers could see the Deol brothers with their Deol sisters; either with Esha or Ahana

Sonam Kapoor and Anil Kapoor have become two big names in Bollywood. Anil is today and international figure after the success of Oscar winning, Slumdog Millionaire and Sonam is regarded as a fashion icon in the industry. Though the duo has appeared together in a commercial, it would be exciting to watch them together on the celluloid.

Imran Khan received a perfect launch with the youth oriented; Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na. backing him was one of the most successful actors of Bollywood and his Maamu, Aamir Khan. They have always shared a cordial relationship where Aamir has always been concerned about his nephew. It would be worth a watch if the duo could come together and share the screen space.

Who are you waiting to see together on screen?

Bollywood: from Silver Screen to Small Screen

Promotion on a large scale in every nook and corner possible is the mantra today for Bollywood. Be it on screen or off screen. When Ghajini was to be released, Aamir Khan went beyond the expectations and turned himself into hair dresser. He disguised himself in various avtars and gelled with the janta during the promotions of 3 Idiots. Shahid Kapoor and Amrita Rao personally went and signed tickets for the first day shows of Vivaah. Well, these are some innovative off screen promotion tactics.

But today more than anything, the Bollywood prefers the medium of television for their movie promotion. The popular actors reach each and every reality shows possible as guests and promote their flicks. Several actors have also been a part of the show for one episode.

Today if we switch on the television all we can see are the cast and crew of Barfi and Heroine in every show possible. Jhalak Dikhlaaja, Indian Idol 6, DID Lil Masters, Dance Ke Superkids; all we can see is in these shows is the movie promotions.

Actors being part of daily soaps are also not new. It can as a big surprise when Kunal Kohli decided to promote his movie Hum Tum on Yeh Meri Life Hain when it was being aired on Sony Entertainment Television. The TRPs of the episode rose to its peak during the promotions. The trend is being followed even today. Rani Mukherjee and Vidya Balan were part of the episodes of popular daily soaps like Na Aana Is Desh Laado and CID. Vidya Balan was a part of the show Uttaran when Kahaani was about to release. Salman Khan was a part of Na Aana Is Desh Laado for two of his blockbuster hits Dabangg and Bodyguard. Aditi Rao Haidari and Ali Zafar were part of Zee TV’s Mrs Kaushik Ki Paanch Bahuein. Ranbir Kapoor was a part of Zee TV shows recently for the promotions of Barfee.

Bollywood stars appear as themselves also in many of the television shows. Emraan Hashmi and Vidya Balan were part of the popular television show Bade Achche Laggte Hain for The Dirty Picture promotions. And the same goes for Kya Super Kool Hain Hum. The team of Bol Bachchan was part of the Star Plus’ popular show Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hain.

The names will be endless if we start listing it down. Leaving the fact whether the film works or not, being a part of a television show definitely broadens your reach and visibility. Today with no medium left, it seems like the film crew will have to look out for even more innovative ways to attract more eye balls to theatres.

Kollywood: It’s a dog eat dog world!

Kollywood has witnessed the influx of several actors and actresses rushing in from other filmy families down South! We’ve seen this trend with Aishwarya Rai, Sameera Reddy, Sonu Sood, Rahul Dev, Hansika Motwani, Ashish Vidyarthi and many more actors in Bollywood who have a big fan base in the south – both as actors and villains!
However, this is the first time, an actor has not been welcomed into the family! It brings up the question, of whether the actress will give up, or bounce back as a leading lady! Lisa Haydon is out of Kollywoodalready? Is the big ‘Q-at-hand’ now!
There was a lot of hype surrounding Hollywood beauty, Lisa Haydon's entry into Kollywood.

However, sources now say that Kollywood actress Trisha Krishnan wanted the Hollywood actress out from 'Endrendrum Punnagai', since the start of the film.

It is unfortunate that the news surrounding Lisa is true, and she was dumped unceremoniously from the film. Trisha apparently felt Lisa’s presence in the film as a threat to her popularity and role in the film! Trisha asked director Ahmed to remove her from the star cast of the film. The actress is also reported to have threatened the director that she would walk out of the film, if Lisa is a part of it. Since, Ahmed had shot some important scenes with Trisha, he decided to drop Lisa and opt for Andrea Jeremiah instead! Now, Andrea will play a cameo in the upcoming film.

This attitude of actresses towards one another and of director’s towards their crew and cast, shows a glimpse of how cut throat the film fraternity can be.

Whether Lisa fights back, or gets walked upon? We’ll just have to wait and watch!

The never-ending saga of Kollywood release dates!

It is no secret that films in the South, unlike Bollywood, have a constant fluctuation in terms of final release dates. Often, even the month of the film's release is not finalized, till the very last minute!
In the past 2 months the release dates of 3 big starrer films – ‘Kochadaiyaan’, ‘Maattraan’and ‘Vishwaroopam’ have shifted from Diwali to Christmas, clashed with each other over three times, rescheduled and gossiped about, and finally, back to being inconclusive of when they will hit screens.
In a recent interview with a leading national English newspaper, Prabhu Deva who jumped from Kollywood into Bollywood as a director, stated this, “In Bollywood people are extremely professional. The release dates of the films are announced long before the film hits the floors and is confirmed when the film is at its post-production stage”.
However, in Kollywood the story is very different. For instance, this September the release of ‘Podaa Podi’, ‘Charulatha’and the much-awaited ‘Thandaavam’ has been pre-poned and postponed ample number of times!

Actress Priyamani's much-awaited movie 'Charulatha' was touted as one of the top releases in September. Being pushed from the 7th to the 14th earlier, now the film will finally hit the screens on the postponed released date of 21st September.
The Tamil version is ready to head to the censors, and so is the Kannada version of the film. Sources reveal that this could further add to the postponing of the film's release, however, as of now, 21st in the date!
The film's leading lady, Priyamani, hasn't been seen in Kollywoodlately. She is looking forward to the release of her latest venture, which is a drama-thriller and hopes to bounce back strongly into the Kollywood film industry!
The release date issue is not just restricted to Kollywood, even in Tollywood much-awaited films like, ‘Damarukam’, ‘Gauravam’ and ‘Autonagar Surya’ have never been constant about their release dates!
It’s going to be long before Bollywood catches up to Hollywood;and Kollywood and other film families down South, match up to Indian release date standards!
